Gdynia is one of the few cities that creates the City Information System for the blind. Information in the Braille alphabet can be found, among others on pictograms (information plates – guiding pedestrian traffic) and on cartouches – carriers of information plates on monuments. Typical of most elements of the City Information System are also covers made of perforated stainless steel. Gdynia organizes its space by setting out urban tourist routes and locating information plates on them. The City Information System of Gdynia also includes plates with street names. For individual city zones, three separate types of plates with street names (enamel plates, bent aluminum plates and frame plates) were adopted (all with similar graphics).
